OUR FOCUS
|
KIR Foundation is a cause-driven organization that is for Orphan Care, Youth Empowerment and Personal Social Responsibility. That is because a strong society can only be achieved when the individuals especially young people become the change they want to see.
|
| |
| CHILD CARE: |
We create awareness in the society about orphans and advocate their rights through our enlightenment, educational and service programs. We also target their emotional, cognitive and educational needs through our activities. |
| |
| YOUTH EMPOWERMENT: |
|
We believe that our young people are indeed leaders in their own right and the custodians of tomorrow. However we realize there is a gap in the current educational and developmental structures to give them the necessary nascent leadership attitude. Therefore we inspire, educate and empower them through various learning activities like: lectures, book clubs and participation in community service.
|
| |
| MENTORING & COUNSELING: |
Mentorship and Counseling: We realize that young people are looking for role models to emulate and someone trustworthy they can share with. We therefore offer counseling sessions on issues pertaining to but not limited to abuse. We also mentor former street children and orphans, generally referred to as orphans and vulnerable children (OVCS).
|
| |
| ADVOCACY: |
We are a powerful ally and advocate for our young people and their rights. We have partnered with various organizations that work with young people especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. The objective is to create awareness and influence public policy around a range of social issues concerning children including the Child Rights Act 2003, child welfare, education, literacy and public health.
